Michael P. Gruber is a native of Bridgeport, West Virginia, and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 2008. Following high school, he attended West Virginia University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a minor in Philosophy. Michael continued his education at the West Virginia University College of Law. There, in addition to his Juris Doctorate, he earned his Master of Business Administration degree through the school’s JD/EMBA joint degree program, and graduated in 2015. While at the College of Law, Michael served as an officer in both the Business Law Society and the Tax Law Society, received a CALI award in Appellate Advocacy, and worked as a research assistant to Prof. Elaine Wilson, working primarily on articles concerning tax-exempt organizations. He also founded the WVU Sports Analytics Collective, a student organization focused on analyzing sports statistics to determine how players and coaches can gain a competitive edge. After graduation, Michael became a Charter Member of the WVU College of Business & Economics Young Professional Network. Michael joined the firm in August, 2015, working as a law clerk until being admitted to practice in October of the same year. His areas of concentration are wills, trusts, estates, bankruptcy, and commercial law. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, watching sports, and spending time with his family, friends, and his fiancée, Julie.
